Kylie and Ken's Wedding at Trents Vineyard in Christchurch
“We’ve loved watching them all and getting the chance to relive the day. You’ve done an amazing job! Thank you!”
Ken and Kylie celebrated their wedding in late February with a heartfelt ceremony and relaxed reception at Trents Vineyard. Set among the vines and open skies, the day was grounded, joyful, and deeply personal, a reflection of their relationship and the life they have built.
Kylie got ready with her Bridesmaids and family at Hamptons Retreat, not far from Trents
The ceremony was beautifully led by celebrant Brittany Muir, Hitched by Britt, whose words balanced warmth, humour, and sincerity while telling Ken and Kylie’s story. As the afternoon rolled into evening, the celebration continued seamlessly with music by DJ Dale, keeping the atmosphere lively and the dance floor moving.
I had the privilege of photographing the day and creating a Heirloom Film for Ken and Kylie, preserving the moments, emotions, and energy of a wedding that was as meaningful as it was relaxed.

“Kylie and Ken stand here today, proud of the simple and fulfilling life that they have built together, their profound relationship a testament to the love, patience and understanding they have for each other”
“Embarking on this new chapter of your love story does not make the journey that you have made to get here insignificant.
Instead, this marriage solidifies the love, commitment and history already shared between you both, and the mutual pledge to continue to move forward together, loving one another and bringing out the best in each other every day.”
“Marriage is committing to a lifetime of adventures together. It is having someone to cheer you on when the going is good and that same person to catch you when you fall.”
“I love your confidence, patience, sense of calm, strength and determination, and how different you are and stand out from the rest in the best way”
“I promise from this day forward you will have my hand to walk with in life, to always love and respect you through good and bad”
“Ken, I used to dream of finding the perfect someone. No, you’re not perfect but you’re absolutely perfect for me.”
“I promise from this day forward you will have my hand to walk with in life, to always love and respect you through good and bad”
“Ken and Kylie, may your days together continue to be full of friendship, love, adventure and happiness. Together with your family and friends, congratulations”

“In all seriousness, you’ve made a huge impact on my life. Honestly, you teach me not to stress about small things, striving to be a better person, and you’re mentally the strongest person I have ever met. I’m really proud of you and Kylie for genuinely just who you are as people and what you guys have accomplished in the last 10 years. Your devotion and love for each other is definitely something to inspire to.”
“Life will throw surprises at you both, wonderful and challenging. But if you tackle them together with patience and a lot of humour, you’ll be just fine”
“Just remember that love is like a garden. It’s something that you both will have to tend to and nurture and protect. And just like a garden, love will bloom in its own ways that you never could have imagined”
“When I met Kylie, it all made sense. She is extremely hardworking and enthusiastic about life, just like Ken, and I was immediately impressed by their relationship and her. So it’s no surprise to me that we’re here today celebrating their commitment.”
“We’ve been through so much together, the good, the bad and the downright ugly. But through it all, those moments have woven the tapestry of our sisterhood. I don’t just get to call you my sister, I get to call you my best friend.”
“They were encouraging to each other through any challenge, and whatever they put their mind to, they succeeded. And it’s a privilege that we all have you in our lives.”
“If the past gives us any indication of where we’re going, then saddle up, because it’s going to be a hell of a ride.”
Following the wedding I made Kylie and Ken this preview video celebrating their marriage ceremony.
Here’s what Kylie and Ken also had to say upon first receiving their preview video:
“Oh wow! Ken and I just pulled over and watched it together on our drive to Nelson, we were way too excited to wait until we got there. You have done a fantastic job, if that’s the preview we can’t begin to imagine what is to come! ”
Once their full Heirloom Film was complete I also made them this Spoken Moments film:
Ken and Kylie’s wedding day was a true reflection of who they are. Grounded, deeply connected, and surrounded by people who genuinely love them. Set against the vines and open skies of Trents Vineyard, their late-February wedding brought together friends and whānau from near and far to celebrate a relationship built on commitment, humour, and shared adventure.
From the very beginning of the ceremony, it was clear this was more than a formal occasion. Led by celebrant Brittany Muir, Hitched by Britt, the ceremony honoured family, acknowledged the journey that brought Ken and Kylie together, and set the tone for a day rooted in meaning. Brittany’s words captured their story with warmth and clarity, weaving together their past, present, and future in a way that felt personal and true.
The vows were a defining moment of the day. Kylie’s words spoke of choice, partnership, and the quiet strength of a love that continues to grow. Ken’s vows reflected deep gratitude, resilience, and a shared commitment to walking through life side by side. Together, their promises formed the emotional heart of the ceremony. Honest, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
As the celebration moved into the reception, the speeches added layers of laughter, perspective, and legacy. From proud parents and siblings to lifelong friends, each speaker painted a picture of Ken and Kylie not just as a couple, but as individuals who lift others up. Stories of loyalty, growth, shared history, and unwavering support echoed throughout the evening, reinforcing just how strong their bond truly is.
With DJ Dale setting the soundtrack for the night, the vineyard reception flowed seamlessly from dinner into celebration. The dance floor filled, glasses were raised, and the evening unfolded with the kind of energy that only comes from a room full of people who are genuinely happy to be there.
I had the privilege of photographing the day and creating a Heirloom Film for Ken and Kylie. Capturing not just how their wedding looked, but how it felt. From quiet moments to roaring laughter, from meaningful words to spontaneous celebration, the day was a reminder of why thoughtful wedding storytelling matters. These are the moments couples return to years later.
If you are planning your own wedding and want photography or film that preserves the emotion, atmosphere, and story of your day, I would love to hear from you. Whether you are getting married at a vineyard, a private property, or somewhere deeply personal, my focus is on creating timeless imagery that feels true to you.
